Frequently Asked Questions
What are the exact outer and inner dimensions of WL6-3416?
The outer shell is 339 x 310 x 155 mm and the internal cavity is 310 x 255 x 138 mm. Externally the case occupies 339 x 310 mm of bench or shelf space while the usable floor inside is 310 x 255 mm, the difference coming from the wall section and the moulded closing geometry. Size a load from the inner dimensions, never from the outside, because outside figures overstate capacity. The 138 mm inner height is the maximum upright height available, and any lining you add reduces it further, so allow for that when the insert is designed.
What material, wall thickness and unit weight does it use?
This model uses an ABS shell with a 4.8 mm wall and a unit weight of 1800 g. At 4.8 mm this is one of the thicker walls in the series and it accounts for much of the 1800 g weight, which suits applications where stacked load has to be carried. ABS takes up very little moisture and holds its dimensions at low temperature, which is why it is widely used for instrument and tool cases. The wall section drives compressive and impact behaviour, so how the case performs in transit and in stacks is largely set here, and the 1800 g unit weight is the figure to use for freight and pallet load calculations.
How many units are in one carton, and what is the carton size?
Each WL6-3416 ships in its own poly bag, with 8 pieces per export carton measuring 675 x 365 x 360 mm. The carton lies flat, which suits standard pallet layouts. Bulk orders can be quoted by full carton or full pallet. Bear in mind that a larger carton does not automatically mean better packing efficiency: divide the carton volume by the piece count to get the transport volume per unit, then compare that against similar case formats, which makes the choice clearer on freight-sensitive projects. Packing breakdowns and pallet plans are available with the order.
What is the difference between WL6-3416 and WL6-3413?
Both share an identical 339 x 310 mm footprint. This model is 155 mm outside with a 138 mm inner height, a 4.8 mm wall, an 1800 g unit weight and 8 pieces per carton, while WL6-3413 is 125 mm outside with a 106 mm inner height and a 1680 g weight. If your contents exceed 106 mm, take this model. The two models are not a step up from one another but a division of labour by content size: measure the height of the contents first, then the floor area, and confirm pack quantity and carton size last. Applying the same order when an insert is designed avoids reworking a lining because the case body was fixed too early.
