Frequently Asked Questions
What are the exact outer and inner dimensions of WL6-4114?
The outer shell is 405 x 362 x 135 mm and the internal cavity is 378 x 307 x 120 mm. Externally the case occupies 405 x 362 mm of bench or shelf space while the usable floor inside is 378 x 307 mm, the difference coming from the wall section and the moulded closing geometry. Size a load from the inner dimensions, never from the outside, because outside figures overstate capacity. The 120 mm inner height is the maximum upright height available, and any lining you add reduces it further, so allow for that when the insert is designed.
What material, wall thickness and unit weight does it use?
This model uses an ABS shell with a 4.0 mm wall and a unit weight of 2100 g. A 4.0 mm wall at 2100 g balances rigidity and portability for a large blade case, keeping day-to-day handling manageable. ABS takes up very little moisture and holds its dimensions at low temperature, which is why it is widely used for instrument and tool cases. The wall section drives compressive and impact behaviour, so how the case performs in transit and in stacks is largely set here, and the 2100 g unit weight is the figure to use for freight and pallet load calculations.
How many units are in one carton, and what is the carton size?
Each WL6-4114 ships in its own poly bag, with 8 pieces per export carton measuring 755 x 425 x 580 mm. The carton lies flat and each unit weighs 2100 g, so check the total against your pallet load limit. Bulk orders can be quoted by full carton or full pallet. Bear in mind that a larger carton does not automatically mean better packing efficiency: divide the carton volume by the piece count to get the transport volume per unit, then compare that against similar case formats, which makes the choice clearer on freight-sensitive projects. Packing breakdowns and pallet plans are available with the order.
What is the difference between WL6-4114 and WL6-4120?
Both use the same 405 x 362 mm footprint. This model is 135 mm outside with a 120 mm inner height, a 4.0 mm wall, a 2100 g unit weight and 8 pieces per carton, while WL6-4120 is 195 mm outside with a 187 mm inner height and a 2640 g weight. Choose between them on content height alone. The two models are not a step up from one another but a division of labour by content size: measure the height of the contents first, then the floor area, and confirm pack quantity and carton size last. Applying the same order when an insert is designed avoids reworking a lining because the case body was fixed too early.
