The lid depth is 30 mm and the base depth is 150 mm, which together account for the 180 mm internal height. This shallow-lid, deep-base split leaves most of the volume in the base half for taller equipment, while the lid side takes cables, adapters and slim accessories. It also means opening the case exposes the whole main layer for direct access. If an item comes close to 180 mm, allow some foam compression and have the dimensions checked so the lid still closes properly.

The usable floor is 385 by 313 mm and the outer size is 410*370 mm, which is one of the wider options in the 8 Series. Laid flat, it takes more medium-sized items side by side, such as several gauges, grouped tools or electronic modules, reducing the need for vertical stacking and making access easier. For a divided insert, leave a small clearance on each side of every item and add extra foam at the base under heavy parts to improve cushioning in transit.

The shell is injection moulded in polypropylene with a sealing structure, and the closed case is rated IP67 for water and dust protection, covering rain, dusty environments and short immersion while reducing moisture and particle ingress. We do not claim military standard certification for this model. Protection depends on the lid seating correctly on the gasket, so check the seal for ageing, deformation or trapped particles, and avoid long soaking or heavy rain once it is damaged.

The 2730 g comes from the 3.7 mm wall and the larger 410*370*198 mm body, which puts it on the heavier side of the 8 Series. That weight buys a bigger cavity plus more margin against compression and impact, so it suits heavy contents and frequent handling or stacking. If the case is mostly carried by hand with light contents, a smaller 3.4 mm model in the same series is easier to live with. Weigh cavity volume, weight and handling frequency together.
